Aditya drop Imlie to college and apologize to her for whatever happen with her at his home. She asks not to apologize to her. He says her studies shouldn’t affect or else he won’t be able to forgive himself. She asks if bears scolding, he scolds in return; she says she heard his and Aparna’s conservation, so she is thinking of distancing herself for time being. He says she will prove his family right if she distance herself and tomorrow is Pallavi’s muh dikhayi/introduction ceremony and she has to be present there. She says its Pallavi’s muh dikhayi and not hers. He says he will perform her muh dikhayi right now and introduces himself and Imlie to students and peon present there. She stops him. He says he learn nautanki from her and says they both as husband and wife will attend muh dikhayi function. She agrees.
Aparna calls Malini and invites her to Pallavi’s muh dikhayi ceremony. Malini remembering promising KC not to visit Tripathis again apologizes and refuse to come. Aparna says she is her daughter inlaw and should be present. Malini says Imlie is also her bahu and she should pay attention to her. Aparna insists and lies that Adi asked her invite her, so she should come. Malini agrees. Aparna feels guilty for lying to Malini. Malini thinks she broke her promise made to KC.
The next morning, Radha guides house decoration for ceremony. Imlie asks if she can help. Radha says she is not a servant to work and asks Sundar to take care of the arrangements as he get a salary. Sundar agrees and leaves. Imlie says let us keep the differences aside and concentrate on the function. Radha says if she really wants to help her, she shouldn’t introduce herself as Adi’s wife and stay away from her bahu’s function. After sometime, tailor delivers function clothes to Aparna and gives even Imlie’s clothes. Aparna says she doesn’t need it. Rupali asks why don’t she accept it when she ordered it for Imlie? Tailor says he will bear losses. Aparna pays him and asks him to dump it or sell it to someone as the girl is not part of her family anymore. Imlie watch them hiding.
KC visits Malini’s house and calls her. Anu says she is not at home and thought she is with him. He jokes, calls Malini, finds her phone switched off, says she knew about their meeting today and even then she went somewhere. Driver returns and informs Anu that he dropped Malini to her in-laws’ house as there is a function there. KC thinks Malini broke her promise. Anu asks him to finalize Malini and Adi’s divorce as soon as possible and take today’s date. He says court doesn’t work on her terms and he needs time to take a date.
Malini visits Tripathi House. Aparna offers her dress. Malini asks if the whole family is wearing same themed dresses? Aparna says yes. Malini asks even Imlie? Aparna says she is still her bahu and should wear it forgetting about Imlie. Malini says she has accepted the truth and even she should. Aparna insists that she wants her bahu today to be part of the function and convinces her. Malini agrees. Imlie in her room feels sad reminiscing Aparna’s bitter words and try to study. Adi asks her to get ready for function. She hesitates and says she needs to complete an assignment. He says he will inform her professor that she will submit assignment after 2 days. She stops him. He says she is lying and her real assignment is outside. She says she is worried for family as its Pallavi’s muh dikhayi function and if she goes out, people’s attention will be on her and not Pallavi. Adi says their elders are angry with them as they consider her as servant and bothered about guests instead who will forget after returning. He continues his speech and says he will return to pick her up in 5 minutes.
Function starts. Aparna and Radha visit guests and asks their neighbors about another neighbor Mrs Sharma. Neighbors gossip that Mrs Sharmaa’s daughter eloped with a driver and ruined the whole family’s dignity. Aparna changes the topic and goes to other guests. They gossip that Aparna is hurt as her daughter is at home since years and her son is getting divorced within 8 months of marriage. Aparna gets angry hearing that and confronts them that they are too much worried about her family and should ask her bahu Malini if she is divorcing her son or not. Malini walks to them. Rupali asks Aparna why did she call Malini here as Imlie will also attend the function. Aparna says let us see then.
During Pallavi’s muh dikhayi/introduction ceremony, Aparna praises Malini that she is looking beautiful. Malini says Pallavi is looking more beautiful. Pallavi and Nishant sit for the ritual. Radha and Harish perform their aarti and then Aparna and Pankaj. Guests asks Aparna to call Adi and Malini for aarti next. Pallavi’s mother Pushpa asks her why she said Malini is a professor in her college. Pallavi says she will explain to her later. Adi walks down. Aparna makes him stand next to Malini. Adi asks Malini why did she come here? Malini says maa called her.
Aparna insists Adi and Malini to perform aarti and hopes Imlie doesn’t come here. She remembers going to Imlie and tells that she may grow big with her studies, but her place will not change in her heart, she would have asked something instead of her son and snatched her son and Malini’s husband, she is not part of her family and hence should not come out for ritual. Out of flashback, she says her son and DIL are ready for aarti. Pushpa tells Adi that she didn’t know Malini is his wife, they look good together. Neighbor says problems come and go, its good they are together and asks to perform aarti. Aditya says he will perform aarti with his wife and walk away from there. He goes to Imlie, insists her to accompany him, and holding her hand walk to living room and tells Panditji that Imlie is his wife and he will perform aarti with her.
Guests discuss how can a servant be a daughter inlaw and one of them ask Aparna that she said Malini and Adi are back together, but Adi is calling Imlie his wife. Adi says truth is Imlie is his first wife and he and Malini have separated; he didn’t want to inform about it this way, but didn’t have any other way. Neighbors question Harish that he is society’s chairman and their leader, how will he lead them if this happens in his own house? Another says people usually give clothes, food, and utensils to servants, but they gave their son to a servant. Another says they trapped innocent Malini who is from a rich family and has a respectable job, Aparna made a servant as daughter inlaw and seeing all this, they can not stay here.
All guests walk away. Pushpa tells Tripathis that they betrayed her. Radha says they didn’t know about it and Imlie betrayed them. Pushpha says if she had known this, she wouldn’t have performed her daughter’s wedding in their house. Pallavi says Adi and Imlie are not wrong and she loves Imlie as her sister. Adi tells Aparna that she is worried about guests who will go home and forget what happened here, she should also accept Imlie like Malini did.
Aparna confronts him that he ruined their dignity with his heinous act and confronts Imlie that she requested her not to come out, but Imlie wanted to reveal truth to everyone and is happy with it; maybe Imlie is habituated to bear people’s taunts and bend her head in front of them, but they are not; why don’t she go away from here and let them live in peace; illegitimate relationships don’t happen in their family, it may happen in Imlie’s family as she herself is illegitimate. Imlie walk to her room.
Adi comes out of house with Malini and says he knew his family will not easily accept Imlie, but didn’t know they would wrongly accuse Imlie, especially maa. Malini says he should give them time as they are in shock. He says he doesn’t have any problem if they are angry with him, but they are adamant with one issue even after knowing that Imlie is Malini’s sister; they drag even her in this. Malini says she can not deny maa’s request, but will not come here next time.
Adi says she can come here anytime, but he wants maa to accept Imlie. She says she is feeling bad for Imlie. He says he knows how much she did for Imlie and wants her to inform family that their divorce is mutual and they were just friends and not lovers from before, she can live happily with Kunal and he will register his marriage with Imlie after divorce proceedings and will live happily with her but with elder’s blessings. Malini agrees and leaves reminiscing KC saying that she still has feelings for Adi and think how to tell Adi that she is shattering as divorce date is coming close.
Precap: Imlie participates in best bahu competition and challenges Aparna that she will win it as she enjoys buying tickets and her destiny is becoming best bahu. Aparna tears ticket and says she should book Pagdandiya ticket instead and enjoy her trip. Anu participates as best bahu competition’s guest and she announces that competitors have to prepare food which is not Indian.
